Offered here for the first time ever! A beautiful reproduction of the WWII German field stove/heater. Manufactured and offered by Tom Comer, a skilled fabricator and long time reenactor. This newly manufactured (made in the USA) stove is an exact copy of Tom's original field stove weighing in at 25 lbs.The Germans used these field stoves for cooking and also as a source of heat. These were intended for vehicle crews or use at infantry squad level and are perfect for overnight tacticles or static camp displays. Cook soup, make stew and heat coffee. The original mess-tins fit into a mess-tin shaped hole in the cast iron top. The hole has a hinged cast Iron lid that covers it when not in use. Tom thinks that it may get so hot, it could melt a mess tin. The other option is that you can hang mess tins around the sides and heat or keep food warm that way.We are completely sold out of these - sorry! No more in the near future but we're trying to get the producer to make more for us soon. We've had dozens of people wanting to order stoves and that the producer needs to get moving on more (the first run sold out immediately). The reason for the delay is that the casting house was using the original cast iron top and bottom as the patterns for the molds. Well, the original pieces were damaged during the 2nd run. Tom is about to make the pattern from wood adn then reproduce the tops again. Keep checking back for details. Tom's hoping to have some ready by the Rockford event. |
